Qualls waived by Thunder

University of Arkansas basketball player Michael Qualls talks to the media Wednesday evening at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville after announcing that he will be entering the NBA draft.

Former Arkansas guard Michael Qualls was waived by the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday.

The move was expected for Qualls, who tore an ACL earlier this year. NBA teams must have regular season rosters set by Monday.

Qualls is expected to spend the season rehabbing with the Oklahoma City Blue, the Thunder's NBA D-League affiliate.

As a junior, Qualls averaged 15.7 points and was a second-team all-SEC player for the Razorbacks last season.

He was thought to be a possible second-round draft prospect before tearing his ACL in pre-draft workouts in Phoenix.

Former Arkansas forward Coty Clarke was waived by the Boston Celtics earlier this week.
