Kapita goes pro, won't attend Arkansas

Power forward Ted Kapita.

Highly regarded power forward Ted Kapita, who signed with Arkansas in April, has decided to sign to play professional basketball in France. Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports first reported the news.

Kapita, 6-9, 222 pounds, played for Huntington Prep in West Virginia last season. He inked with Razorbacks over numerous scholarship offers from schools that included West Virginia, Memphis, Oregon and Missouri.

When it appeared he might not be cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center in July, Kapita committed to Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, with hopes of enrolling at Arkansas in January or in the summer.
