The Recruiting Guy

Dallas-Ft. Worth recruiting tidbits

Highly recruited defensive lineman Michael Williams plans to officially visit the Hogs.

— Recruiting the Dallas-Ft. Worth area was key in Arkansas' decision to sign a ten year contract to play Texas A&M at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. The game on Saturday will be the second of the ten year deal.

The first stop this morning was to see defensive lineman Michael Williams, 6-2 1/2, 285 pounds, 4.95 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Fort Worth All Saints Episcopal. He's rated a four-star prospect by national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network.

Williams said he about a month ago he planned to take an official visit to Arkansas and that remains the plan after visiting with him today. He said Hog receiver commitment Kofi Boateng talks highly of Arkansas.

The Stanford commitment also plans to visit Cardinals, Texas and Ohio State. He hoped to visit during the Auburn game, but said that's the date of the school's Homecoming dance. Running backs coach Jemal Singleton is his leader recruiter.

All Saints Coach Aaron Beck said Williams is also a big fan of defensive line coach Rory Segrest.

He has a 3.6 GPA and plans to major in business.

The next stop will be at Allen High School at 1:30 to catch up with defensive end Levi Onwuzurike and Coach Tom Westerberg. The day will end at Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club to watch Arkansas offensive line commitment Kellen Diesch practice.

On Thursday, I'll see several other Razorback targets. I'll close out the week by watching Boateng and Arlington Lamar take on rival Arlington Martin Friday night.

Levi Onwuzurike said he's pretty sure he'll attend the Arkansas-Texas A&M game on Saturday. Arkansas is the home team and can host recruits.

He said he plans to officially visit Michigan, Washington and Georgia. Arkansas is in the running for one of the two remaining visits.

Onwuzurike said he and running backs coach Jemal Singleton talk about two times a week.

Kellen Diesch said he and his parents will be attending the Arkansas-Texas A&M game. He said the main reason he committed to Arkansas was because he believes offensive line coach Sam Pittman can develope him as an offensive tackle better than anyone else. He thinks the Hogs will be competing for a national championship after seeing the talent the Hogs are adding for the future. He said defensive end McTelvin Agim and former USC quarterback Ricky Town are big additions.

He plans to take hs official visit after the season.
