Las Vegas receiver calls the Hogs

Receiver Maleek Barkley.

Arkansas receiver target Maleek Barkley has committed to the Hogs.

Barkley, who has a best of 10.54 seconds in the 100 meters, hasn't visited Fayetteville yet, but plans to visit in the very near future.

Barkley, 6-0, 186, 4.45 in the 40-yard dash, of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, has other scholarship offers from Illinois, Nevada-Las Vegas and Texas State. His said his relationship with receivers coach Michael Smith played a big part in his decision.

The explosive Barkley recorded 64 carries for 617 yards and 10 touchdowns and 55 receptions for 693 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season at Austin (Texas) Lake Travis High School. He moved to back to his hometown of Las Vegas at semester.

He becomes Arkansas' No. 4 commitment for the 2017 class.
