Jenkins to transfer from Arkansas

Lorenzo Jenkins (15) of Arkansas participates in a drill Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, during practice in Bud Walton Arena. Arkansas opened practice to the public before the football Razorbacks' game with Auburn.

— Lorenzo Jenkins has decided to transfer from Arkansas, coach Mike Anderson announced in a statement Monday.

The freshman guard from Naples, Fla., appeared in just one game last season, playing 7 minutes and registering 3 points, 2 rebounds and 1 assist against Northwestern State on Dec. 1.

“After meeting with Lorenzo Jenkins we have mutually decided it is in the best interest of his future to pursue another institution to continue his career," Anderson said in a statement. "We wish him nothing but the best moving forward.”

Jenkins is the second Arkansas player to transfer this offseason, joining freshman guard Jimmy Whitt.

The transfers mean that none of Razorbacks' three-man 2015 signing class will be on the team next season. Huntington Prep forward Ted Kapita never made it to campus because he failed to qualify academically.
