Arkansas is expected to add guard C.J. Jones to the 2016 recruiting class when he signs with the Hogs at 10 a.m. today, the first day of the signing period.

Jones, 6-4, 180 pounds of Birmingham (Ala.) Central Park Christian, committed to Tennessee-Chattanooga in September, but he reopened his recruiting and took an official visit to Fayetteville on Feb. 19-21 and orally committed to Coach Mike Anderson before leaving.

"They're getting an excellent shooter, probably one of the best in this state, let alone in the country," Central Park Christian Coach Donavan Broadnax said. "He's a great character kid. You won't have to worry about off-the-court issues. He's super athletic and has a tremendous ceiling."

He averaged 28.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 4 steals this season. Broadnax said Jones carried the team as a senior.

"He was pretty much the 'it' factor for us," Broadnax said. "If he didn't score double-digits, we really didn't have a chance because we were kind of down this year."

Jones' father, Chad Jones, played for Alabama-Birmingham in 1996-1997.

"It's rare to have a kid with the success he's had and still have humility," Broadnax said. "Some of them at least get a little bit of an ego, but he has none at all."

He'll become Arkansas' fifth signee. The Razorbacks signed point guard Jaylen Barford, 6-4, 210 of Motlow Community College in McMinnville, Tenn.; shooting guard Daryl Macon, 6-4, 185 of Holmes (Miss.) Community College; forward Arlando Cook, 6-8, 210 of Connors State College in Warner, Okla.; and forward Adrio Bailey, 6-7, 205 of Campti (La.) Lakeview during the early signing period in November.
