Ficociello presented with Gold Glove Award

Former Arkansas first baseman Dominic Ficociello was awarded a Gold Glove Award for his defensive performance during the 2015 Minor League Baseball season.

Dominic Ficociello was presented with a Gold Glove Award before the Erie SeaWolves' game Sunday.

The former Arkansas first baseman earned the award for his performance during the 2015 season, in which he made only four errors in 102 games with the Lakeland Flying Tigers and SeaWolves, Detroit's A-advanced and double-A affiliates, respectively.

Former Arkansas first baseman Dominic Ficociello was awarded a Gold Glove Award for his defensive performance during the 2015 Minor League Baseball season.

His .996 fielding percentage led all first baseman across 10 MLB-affiliated, full-season minor leagues.

Ficociello also had a solid season at the plate, batting .293 with 25 doubles, five triples, eight home runs and 60 RBIs.

He was assigned to double-A Erie to begin the season, but has struggled through nine games. Despite a perfect fielding percentage, Ficociello is just 4-for-34 (.118) with no extra-base hits and one RBI.
