Game 1 - Arkansas 2, Kentucky 0

Zach Jackson threw a complete game and Arkansas beat Kentucky 2-0 Saturday in a 7-inning game at Cliff Hagan Stadium.

The Razorbacks (24-15, 6-11 SEC) clinched the three-game series.

Jackson allowed two hits and struck out eight batters to give Arkansas its second complete game start in as many games. Dominic Taccolini pitched 10 innings in the Razorbacks' 1-0 win Friday.

Jackson worked out of a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the seventh. Tristan Pompey flied out to center field to end the game.

Arkansas scored its only runs in the top of the fourth inning. Luke Bonfield's RBI double with no outs scored Carson Shaddy. Bonfield scored on an RBI groundout by Chad Spanberger.

Dustin Beggs pitched a complete game for Kentucky (23-15, 9-8), but lost his first game of the year. Beggs (7-1) allowed five hits, walked one and struck out one.

The Razorbacks won a series for the first time since sweeping Auburn in March. Arkansas had lost eight straight conference games prior to this weekend's series.

Game 2 - Kentucky 5, Arkansas 4

Troy Squires hit an RBI single with two outs in the seventh to lift Kentucky to a 5-4 win over Arkansas in the second game of a 7-inning doubleheader Saturday.

The Razorbacks led 4-3 entering the home half of the final inning, but the Wildcats singled and drew a walk off Doug Willey to start the inning.

That prompted Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn to bring in Josh Alberius, who retired the first two batters he faced before giving up back-to-back RBI singles to Dorian Hairston and Squires.

Arkansas (24-16, 6-12 SEC) was trying to hang on to a lead it gained on a two-out home run by Clark Eagan in the fifth.

Eagan's home run gave the Razorbacks the lead after Kentucky (24-15, 10-8) tied the game at 3-3 with a two-run home run by Hairston.

Unlike the previous two games, when Arkansas got shutouts from Dominic Taccolini (10 innings) and Zach Jackson (7 innings), starter Keaton McKinney failed to give the Razorbacks a quality start.

In only 3 1/3 innings, McKinney allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks. Hairston's two-run home run and a single by Squires knocked him out of the game.

Arkansas returns to Fayetteville for a midweek game against Oklahoma State on Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
