The Recruiting Guy

Future Hog chows down during visit

Attalla (Ala.) Etowah class of 2017 quarterback Daulton Hyatt was offered by Arkansas on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

If Arkansas quarterback commitment Daulton Hyatt’s weekend visit to Fayetteville is an indication, he won’t have a problem adding weight to his 6-foot 4-inch frame once on campus.

He was able to eat with the Razorback players at the training table in the Jerry and Gene Jones Family Student-Athlete Success Center Friday afternoon.

“They had filet mignon and all kinds of other stuff for them to choose from,” said Hyatt, who was among the 40 or so recruits at the spring game. “And then we got to eat breakfast where the players eat at everyday and I think it's the best breakfast I've ever ate.”

“I can't wait to be there and be able to eat there everyday.”

Hyatt, who weighs 182 pounds and has been timed at 4.62 seconds in the 40 yard dash, was impressed how the fans supported the team and Coach Bret Bielema.

“I like seeing how supportive the fans were of the team and coach B and how into it they were,” said Hyatt, who chose the Hogs over scholarship offers from Miami, Maryland, Louisville, Missouri, Vanderbilt and others.

He completed 163 of 256 passes for 2,200 yards and 17 touchdowns while rushing 121 times for 688 yards and 5 touchdowns as a sophomore for Attalla (Ala.) Etowah. Hyatt hung out with two other commitments, receiver Maleek Barkley and offensive lineman Kirby Adcock.

“It went great,” he said. “They seemed like they really enjoyed it.”
