Illinois post prospect commits to UA women's Coach Dykes

Center Macy Weaver has committed to Arkansas women's basketball Coach Jimmy Dykes.

She arrived in Fayetteville on Wednesday for an official visit and told Dykes of her pledge before leaving on Thursday. She publicly announced her decision on Twitter Friday.

Weaver, 6-3 of Stillman Valley High School in Illinois committed to Wisconsin and Badger Coach Bobbie Kelsey in January. In early March, Kelsey was fired and Weaver started to explore her options.

She had offers from Wisconsin, Missouri, Northwestern, Kansas State and others. She averaged 19.9 points, 18.5 rebounds, 5.9 blocks, 2.6 steals and 2.4 assists as a junior.

Weaver is the Hogs' first commitment for the 2017 class.
