Louisiana prospect calls Arkansas visit 'amazing'

Arkansas receiver Keon Hatcher and Hog receiver prospect Kendrick Paul during Saturday's visit.

Receiver Kendrick Paul’s visit to Arkansas for the spring game was a big success.

Prior to the visit to Fayetteville, Paul had made trips to Mississippi State, LSU, Tulane, Louisiana-LaFayette.

“It was amazing,” Paul said. “It was the best visit I’ve ever been on. It feels like home. Everybody is so friendly and they don’t mind speaking first. I love it up there.”

Paul, 6-0, 175 of Livonia, Louisiana has scholarship offers from Texas-San Antonio, Jackson State, McNeese State and Kentucky Christian. He has another trip scheduled.

“I plan on going to Oregon in two weeks,” Paul said.

He also said he’ll most likely make college decision in two weeks. Things are looking good for the Hogs.

“That’s my top school,” said Paul of Arkansas.

He made a strong connection with Coach Bret Bielema.

“Great guy, he’s one of the coolest coaches I’ve ever met,” Paul said. “He doesn’t mind saying what’s on his mind and that’s what I like about him. He’ll joke with you. Before the game started he joked with me, but when he was on the field and it was time to play, it was time to play and I like that about him.”

Paul, who has a 3.5 grade point average, said he and Bielema talked about his future.

“He was telling me he would love for me to be there and he introduced me to the other commits in my class saying I should join them,” Paul said.

Arkansas team chemistry impressed.

“It was just like a different environment,” he said. “Everybody got along so well. So good it was like they’ve known each other for life and that’s the environment I want to be in once I graduate.”
