Serbian big man in USA to better his opportunities

2018 big man Tomislav Miholjcic is in the United States to improve his opportunities.

— Sophomore big man Tomislav Miholjcic moved to the United States from Belgrade, Serbia, about a year ago to try and maximize his potential.

“I know everybody’s dream is to come to America to play because you know somebody will watch you and make you better,” Miholjcic said. “In my country, they have like a few players they want to improve, and that’s it.”

“I have big goals, like first to finish high school and then go to college and professional after that.”

Miholjcic, 6-9, 250 pounds, will play for Batesville Southside this coming season after attending Southwest Christian in Little Rock.

He played well at Arkansas’ Elite Camp on Monday and will be closely watched by the Hogs the next three years.

“I like this place. It’s pretty nice,” said Miholjcic, who played for 15-under Team Portis Wings in the spring and summer. “The camp was good.”

Miholjcic said he got better at the camp and picked up some tips.

“They’re very good coaches,” he said. “They know a lot of stuff that I’ve never heard. It was very good. I learned some pretty good post stuff like on 1-on-1.”
