Williams could play some FB

NWA Democrat-Gazette/ANDY SHUPE Arkansas linebacker Josh Williams drinks water Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015. during practice at the university football practice field in Fayetteville.

— Bret Bielema has pitched playing fullback in short-yardage situations to senior linebacker Josh Williams.

The move makes sense logistically. While Arkansas uses tight ends at fullback, Hayden Johnson is currently the only true fullback on the Razorbacks’ 105-man fall camp roster. Williams is running with the first-team defenses as the strong side linebacker after missing the last half of the 2015 season because of a broken leg suffered in early October.

“(Williams) wanted to spend his first week at linebacker, which I appreciate,” Bielema said. “He was making a move there, but we might use him in short-yardage, goal-line situations.

"Fullback isn't rocket science."

Williams recorded 45 tackles while starting four games the last two years at linebacker.
