The Recruiting Guy

Recruits are 'Being Bret Bielema' fans

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema watches warmups prior to practice Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, in Fayetteville.

Being Bret Bielema started as a YouTube series before premiering on ESPNU Wednesday night. The behind-the-scenes look gives the public and recruits an everyday look at Bielema as a person and as a coach.

While most recruits missed the premiere because of preseason practice, some prospects were able to watch it live or catch it later online.

Offensive line commitment Shane Clenin of Festus, (Mo.) Jefferson:

"I thought it was awesome. It was great to see what Coach B is like off the field and how he interacts with other people."

2018 quarterback commitment Connor Noland of Greenwood missed the show, but understands the benefits:

"I think it's great. You have to have some fun with it. He's getting out there, and I think the more public attention the university receives it will help."

Defensive end signee Michael Taylor of Riverside (Calif.) Community College:

"I did not get to watch it all, but I will finish it when I can. It was pretty cool to see our coach living the good life and having fun just as we are."

Defensive end commitment Ryder Anderson of Katy, Texas:

"I caught it online earlier today, It was really good and very intriguing to watch. The show really just confirms my thoughts and my respect for Coach B. He's very real, very honest and is always himself. I respect that a lot."
