Arkansas cornerback Britto Tutt out with torn ACL

Arkansas sophomore defensive back Britto Tutt answers questions from members of the news media Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, during the team's annual Media Day activities in the Fred W. Smith Football Center on the university campus in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas sophomore cornerback Britto Tutt suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament during practice Wednesday and will miss the 2016 season.

Razorbacks secondary coach Paul Rhoads confirmed the injury following Thursday's practice. Tutt is eligible to redshirt and will have three seasons of eligibility remaining.

The injury came the day that Arkansas coach Bret Bielema touted the team's depth at cornerback, saying that he would approach senior cornerback DJ Dean, who injured a hamstring earlier this week and might miss up to three weeks, about redshirting.

Tutt posted a message on his Twitter during the noon hour on Thursday that read, "Minor Setback for a major comeback."

The Razorbacks starting cornerbacks are seniors Jared Collins and Henre' Toliver. Tutt, a junior college transfer, and Ryan Pulley were working with the second team. Senior Kevin Richardson, the starting nickel back, can play inside our outside.
