— Arkansas signee Michael Taylor (6-4, 240 pounds) was unable to report for the first day of class at Arkansas on Monday, but still hopes to be in Fayetteville this week.

“Hope to get there Friday," Taylor said Tuesday. "If everything works out, I will leave tomorrow, but I am still waiting to hear back from my (junior college).

“Every time we get over one problem, another one shows up.”

Taylor, who would have four years to play three if he arrives this week, had 50 tackles last season at Riverside, Calif., Community College, including 11 1/2 tackles for lost yardage and four sacks.

He took an official visit to Arkansas in mid-July and committed to the Razorbacks on July 21.

If Taylor is unable to get to Arkansas in time, he will play this season at Riverside and have two years of eligibility left beginning in 2017.

Taylor is one of three players that the Razorbacks added after national signing day along with Texas graduate transfer offensive lineman Jake Raulerson and junior college cornerback Britto Tutt.

Raulerson is projected to be the team's starting right guard, while Tutt is out for the season with a torn ACL.
