Missouri exacts revenge, more

Arkansas' Melissa Wolff (33) drives against Missouri's Sophie Cunningham (3) during a game Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville.

Arkansas couldn't repeat last month's winning performance against Missouri.

The Razorbacks lost for the fifth time in six games, falling 69-48 to Missouri in front of 4,766 at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, Mo.

Arkansas (10-15, 5-7 SEC), which beat Missouri 64-52 on Jan. 17, was 4-2 in the SEC after winning at LSU on Jan. 21. But since that point, Arkansas' only victory came Monday against Vanderbilt.

The Razorbacks trailed 42-17 at halftime, shooting 23.3 percent (7 of 30). They were scoreless for four minutes on two occasions in the first half, leading to their lowest halftime point total in SEC play this season. Missouri led by as many as 31 points in the third quarter and 58-31 entering the fourth quarter.

Morgan Stock led Missouri (20-6, 7-6) with 17 points, including five three-pointers. Jordan Frericks had 15 points while Juanita Robinson added 11 points.

The Tigers shot 51.6 percent (16 of 31) in the first half and 44.0 percent (22 of 50) overall.

"We knew we were going to get Missouri's best shot after what we did to them down at our building," Arkansas women's Coach Jimmy Dykes said.

"We knew they were waiting for us. We expected it. They played really, really well. They played hard. They played well. We knew they had this game circled. Don't let them tell you that they didn't, because I know they did."

Missouri women's Coach Robin Pingeton was pleased with how her team responded against the Razorbacks, almost a month after the Tigers lost in Fayetteville.

"We just didn't like anything about that game and we all took it pretty hard," Pingeton said. "It's not that we had it marked on our calendar. The girls maybe talked about that, but it's nothing that we talked about as a team. When the opportunity opened up to play them again, I know our girls were going to make sure that they were ready to go."

Malica Monk scored 15 points to lead the Razorbacks. Jordan Danberry had 12 points. Leading scorer Jessica Jackson struggled, scoring only two points on 1-of-9 shooting.

Arkansas finished 20 of 60 (33.3 percent) from the floor and made 1 of 12 from three-point range. The Razorbacks were also outrebounded 39-32.
