FAYETTEVILLE — Sophomore pitcher Kyle Pate will transfer from Arkansas to Crowder Community College in Missouri, he said Tuesday in a post on his Twitter page.
Pate, a left-hander, struggled in 12 appearances as a freshman, recording an 8.64 ERA in 8 1/3 innings. He had been considered one of the Razorbacks' most improved pitchers during fall practices, but struggled in the team's intrasquad scrimmages to close the practice season.
At Fayetteville High School, Pate was a two-time all-state selection.
