David Lingmerth has earned a spot to represent Sweden in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Lingmerth joins fellow countryman Henrik Stenson as golf returns to the Olympics for the first time since 1904. He enters the Olympics as the No. 14 seed in the field of 60 players and is ranked No. 49 in the world. Lingmerth has seven top-25 finishes this year, including consecutive top-15 finishes in his last two events at the U.S. Open (12th) and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational (tied for 7th).

Lingmerth, who won the 2015 Memorial Tournament, was a two-time All-American at Arkansas and helped guide the Razorbacks to a 2009 NCAA Championship runner-up finish. He also has the fifth-best career stroke average in the program at 72.73.
