Arkansas CB pledge Jordon Curtis on display in Springdale this weekend

Jenks, Okla., cornerback Jordon Curtis is committed to Arkansas.

— Those Razorback football fans wanting to see future Arkansas cornerback Jordon Curtis of Jenks, Okla., will get the chance this weekend in Springdale, Fayetteville and Rogers.

Curtis (5-11, 180) and his Jenks squad are among 32 teams that will be competing in the 2016 Southwest Elite 7-on-7 Showcase at Shiloh Christian High School.

Jenks is scheduled to play pool games Friday morning at Rogers High School at 9, 10 and 11 a.m. as well as afternoon games at 1:30, 2:30, 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

“I’m as happy as I can be for him,” Jenks coach Allan Trimble told the Tulsa World after Curtis committed to Arkansas on June 18. “It’s a great program in a big conference (SEC) and I know it’s been a dream of his.

The Showcase will continue Saturday at Shiloh Christian with bracket play beginning at 9 a.m. with the championship game slated for 5 p.m.

Curtis rushed for 781 yards and 12 touchdowns, caught 14 passes for 308 yards and two more scores and had 22 tackles and two interceptions while starting both ways and helping Jenks win the state title last season.

Arkansas is also known to also be recruiting three other 2017 prospects scheduled to be on hand are Fort Smith Northside cornerback Tre Norwood (5-11, 170), Jenks tight end Reese Leitao (6-4, 230) and Midwest City, Okla., safety Evan Fields (5-11, 175).

Norwood has offers from Louisville, Wake Forest, Minnesota, Arkansas State, Memphis, Middle Tennessee State and South Alabama with interest from Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn and

others.

Leitao, the son of DePaul head basketball coach Dave Leitao, has offers from Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Maryland, Duke, Houston, Arkansas State, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Kansas, Minnesota, Miami, Ohio, Purdue, Navy, UCF and Utah State and Texas State.

Fields has offers from, Arizona State, Houston, Kansas State, Wyoming, Arkansas State, New Mexico, Tulsa, Ohio and North Texas.
