Day 2 Vegas recruiting tidbits

Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson, assistant Scotty Thurman and associate head coach Melvin Watkins watch the 16-under Arkansas Hawks in Vegas.

— The Arkansas coaches have been making their rounds to the three tournaments in Las Vegas, the Adidas Summer Championships, Bigfoot Las Vegas Classic and FAB 48.

Coach Mike Anderson, associate head coach Melvin Watkins and assistant Scotty Thurman were on hand to watch the 16-under Arkansas Hawks come back after being down most of the game to take New England Playaz to overtime and come out with a 94-86 victory. The Hawks out scored New England 14 to 6 in overtime.

The Hawks moved to 31-4 for the year. Three of their losses have come at 9 am games. This game was a 9:20 tipoff.

Perry scored 27 points and was 12 of 17 from the field and had 7 rebounds.

Junior guard Isaiah Joe was money and scored 24 while hitting 8 of 15 from the field, 6 of 13 from beyond the three-point line. Junior forward Ethan Henderson scored 17 and was 7 of 8 from the field while having 3 rebounds, 3 steals and a block shot.

Junior forward Caleb Stokes scored 12 and was 5 of 8 from the field, 5 of 7 from the free throw line.

2019 Arkansas commitment guard Justice Hill had 3 assists and 3 steals. Junior guard Desi Sills finished with 9 points and added his second offer from UALR after the game.

Assistant coach T.J. Cleveland saw 2017 power forward target Garrison Brooks on Wednesday. Anderson, Watkins and Cleveland was court side to see Brooks play at today's noon game against Hog small forward commitment Darious Hall and Team Magic Elite.

Brooks, who had 19 points in a 75-69 victory, said the Hog coaches haven't missed a game of his this month. Read much more about Brooks in Friday's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Hall scored 14 points for Team Magic Elite.

Cleveland watched 2017 center Kevin Samuel in the Fab 48 this morning. Samuel, 6-10, 220 of Houston St Thomas Episcopal plays for All 4 Sports Dream Team.

Cleveland will catch a redeye to Kansas City tonight to watch several 2018 prospects on Friday.
