Arkansas to begin Pre-Spain trip practices on Monday

— Arkansas’ basketball team will practice five times this week in preparation for its August trip to Spain.

The NCAA allots the Razorbacks 10 days of practice prior to its international trip that runs from Aug. 6-16. Arkansas will play four exhibition games while visiting Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona.

Razorbacks coach Mike Anderson will meet with the media Monday. Seniors Dusty Hannahs and Manuale Watkins, and junior newcomers Daryl Macon and Jaylen Barford will speak prior to Tuesday's practice.

Senior center Moses Kingsley will miss this week’s workouts as he and Arkansas 2017 commits Daniel Gafford and Khalil Garland will all be participating in the Nike Academy in Los Angeles.

The Razorbacks, which were 16-16 last season, are scheduled to play a single game each in Madrid (Aug. 9) and Valencia (Aug. 11), and a pair of games in Barcelona (Aug. 13 and 14).

“We will wholesale substitute and see what these guys can do in a game setting,” Anderson said earlier this summer. “So it kind of gives us a sneak preview in terms of some of the things we are going to be able work on in the fall and leading up into the non-conference schedule.

“We are going to use it to our advantage. In the years before we have used this trip to learn what we can become. We will use it to our benefit.”
