Brown's decision makes Hog commitments happy

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema talks to players prior to the Razorbacks' game against Kansas State on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis, Tenn.

Arkansas' commitments were excited to hear about highly regarded safety Montaric Brown pledging to the Hogs on Thursday.

Brown, 6-1, 180 pounds, 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash, picked the Razorbacks over Alabama, Oklahoma State, Auburn and LSU. ESPN rates him the No. 11 safety and No. 187 overall prospect.

CB Jarques McClellion of Delray Beach, (Fla.) American Heritage:

"Adding him to the Razorback family is a bonus for our defense, an aggressive and talented player like him can help us out a lot."

RB Chase Hayden of Collierville (Tenn.) St. George's Independent School:

"He was a huge get for this program. He is a big time player that we needed. I think this 2017 class is going to be really special."

OL Shane Clenin of Festus, (Mo.) Jefferson:

"I'm very excited. He is a very good football player and is very athletic. He is going to bring a lot to the table, and I cannot wait to meet him."

CB Korey Hernandez of Ellenwood, (Ga.) Cedar Grove:

"I am excited that he decided to be a part of this great 17 class. He is a great addition to the rest of the big-time playmakers we are bringing in."

OL Kirby Adcock of Nashville:

"I think he is a great addition to the class of 2017 and excited about what Coach (Ben) Herbert will be able to do with him."

WR Koilan Jackson of Pulaski Robinson:

"Well he had posted it on snapchat and I wasn't sure if he was for real or not. So I called him and he made it clear that he did. I was excited. It caught me by surprise, but he said it just felt like home to him and he already had relationships with people there which made it better for him."
