Arkansas signee Guidry has minor knee surgery

Arkansas defensive line signee Briston Guidry poses with the Golden Boot trophy.

Arkansas defensive line signee Briston Guidry underwent knee surgery for a meniscus injury after reporting to campus last week, Coach Bret Bielema said on Sunday.

"It was something that happened previously in high school, Bielema said. "Really nothing major."

Guidry, 6-3, 286, from Archbishop Rummel High School in Metairie, La., is part of the Razorbacks' heralded class of defensive line signees that also includes McTelvin Agim, Austin Capps and Jonathan Marshall.

Bielema said Guidry would likely be ready to run in about four weeks and should be full go for the start of camp.

"Our goal is to have him back by mid-July and he'll be able to roll back into things before then, but he should be 100 percent."
