The Recruiting Guy

Horn thrilled with chance to be a Hog

Little Rock Catholic offensive lineman Audry Horn showed well at Arkansas’ three-day camp and received an offer to be a preferred walk-on. The opportunity to be a Razorback is hard to pass up.

“What kid that grows up in this state doesn't want that?” Horn said.

Horn, 6-3, 323 pounds, has an offer from Hendrix along with interest from Arkansas State, Air Force and others. He’s holding off on making a quick decision.

“I was thrilled to get the offer; however, my grandfather taught me to always sleep on something before I commit, so in his honor I did just so,” Horn said.

He works with trainer Ben Witcher in addition to the school workouts. He has a 370-pound bench press, 510 squat, 280 power clean and a 635 dead lift.

Horn enjoyed working with offensive line coach Kurt Anderson and graduate assistant Brey Cook.

“Coach Anderson is the absolute best, as is Coach Brey Cook and the numerous current O-linemen I worked with at camp,” Horn said. “It was a great experience and I feel like I would fit in well there; as with much of this process, when it feels like home, that's usually home.”

Horn, who has a 3.4 grade point average, could be the first Rocket to join the program since the late Garrett Uekman signed with the Hogs in 2010.

“It would be a huge honor,” he said.

He said his family is ecstatic about the offer from Arkansas.

“I can't say enough good things about Coach Anderson and Coach [Bret] Bielema,” Horn said. “The entire recruiting process has been an absolutely great process with them. They are 100 precent class, and I'm so proud to have this opportunity to learn from them.”
