Skipper lands on magazine's All-America team

Arkansas offensive lineman Dan Skipper lines up for a play during a game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas offensive tackle Dan Skipper was named a preseason third-team All-America on Wednesday by Athlon Sports, which has also named him a first-team All-SEC preseason selection.

Skipper, a 6-10, 326-pound senior from Arvada, Colo., leads the Arkansas line with 34 consecutive starts. He is one of two returning offensive linemen to earn All-SEC honors in voting by league coaches last year.

Skipper started all 13 games at right tackle and finished second on the team with an 83 percent grade, which included 53 knockdown blocks and no penalties over the final nine games. Skipper has been a starter on a Razorback offensive front that has led the SEC by allowing the fewest sacks each of the last three seasons.

Athlon Sports slotted the Razorbacks at No. 26 nationally in its preseason rankings and picked them to finish fourth in the SEC West, behind Alabama (preseason No. 1), LSU (9), and Ole Miss (10), and ahead of Texas A&M (28), Auburn (35), and Mississippi State (41).
