Spangler commits to Arkansas

Grayce Spangler (3) of Fayetteville scores ahead of Desiree Mack (25) and Chasidee Owens (24) of Springdale Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, during the first half of play at Bulldog Arena in Fayetteville.

— Grayce Spangler, a 5-foot-10 rising senior guard at Fayetteville High School, committed to Arkansas women’s basketball coach Jimmy Dykes on Wednesday after attending the Razorbacks’ camp.

“Coach Dykes has been watching me for about two years and we’ve been talking,” Spangler said. “I just visited and then then offered and I accepted right away. I really like coach Dykes and the staff and I get along with the players up there. It’s a great fit for me.”

Spangler averaged 6.2 points and 3.7 rebounds for Fayetteville during her junior season.

“Both of parents were Razorbacks and my dad played football there, so I’ve always really liked the school,” Spangler said. “I was just really excited when I got that offer.”
