Future Razorback QB Hyatt Fully Committed

Attalla (Ala.) Etowah class of 2017 quarterback Daulton Hyatt was offered by Arkansas on Saturday, March 5, 2016.

— Arkansas coaches got an extended look at their 2017 quarterback commit last week when Attalah, Ala., Etowah signal caller Daulton Hyatt participated in the Razorbacks’ three-day high school camp.

Hyatt (6-4, 183) enjoyed getting to work with Arkansas offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Dan Enos.

“It was great to get out here and work with Coach Enos and get some drills in,” Hyatt said. “…"I love every bit of it. I don't have any complaints about anything. I couldn't be happier."

Hyatt chose Arkansas over offers from Louisville, Miami, West Virginia, Maryland, Missouri and Vanderbilt and 11 other schools and recently added one from Ole Miss.

While flattered by the attention, Hyatt’s mind is solely on being a Razorback.

"A 100-percent (commit to Arkansas)," Hyatt said.

Hyatt, who will be playing his first season at Etowah, passed for 2,250 yards and 16 touchdowns as a sophomore at Arab High and threw for 1,100 yards during a tough 1-9 season as a junior after his team lost 23 seniors.

Hyatt sizes up his strengths and weaknesses.

“I think my strengths are I can make any throw on the field," Hyatt said. "I can also use my legs to hurt teams when I need to.

"Right now I'm trying to work on my footwork under center. I haven't really done that under center much in my high school career. Our school is going to go under center some so that will help me now."

Hyatt got a chance to work in camp with one of his future teammates in Pulaski Robinson’s Kolian Jackson (6-3, 207), one of the Razorbacks’ 15 pledges in the 2017 class.

"He's really good," Hyatt said. "It was really good to get out and throw some balls to him to see what he's got. I think it's going to be a really good deal (throwing to Jackson)."
