AP names Jackson second-team all-SEC

Arkansas' Jessica Jackson (00) struggles for possession of the ball with Missouri's Jordan Frericks (22) and Juanita Robinson on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, at Bud Walton Arena in Fayetteville. Arkansas won 64-52.

— Arkansas junior Jessica Jackson was named second-team all-SEC on Tuesday by the Associated Press.

Jackson averaged 16.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game during the regular season for the Razorbacks. Her points per game were third-best in the conference and her 41.3 percent field goal percentage was fifth.

She was named first-team all-SEC by coaches.

Jackson suffered a wrist injury late in the season and had a cast put on following the season. She will require six weeks of rehabilitation, a team spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said Jackson's injury did not require surgery. Arkansas coach Jimmy Dykes said earlier this month that three players would need off-season surgery, but declined to provide names.

The Razorbacks finished the season 12-18 overall and declined an invitation to the WNIT.
