Sophomore defensive end Jalan Harris wouldn’t mind having the opportunity to join his former teammate and Razorback freshman Kendrick Jackson in Fayetteville.

Harris, 6-3, 245, 4.70 of Haynesville, La., has scholarship offers from Louisiana-LaFayette, Texas-San Antonio and Jackson State. He's communicating with Razorback receivers coach Michael Smith.

“We’ve been having some pretty long conversations,” Harris said. “We’re developing a pretty good relationship. He’s been talking about offering. I’m just waiting on the call from him.”

Jackson, who saw time at fullback with the Hogs, has positive words about the Hog coaching staff.

“The coaching staff will always push you no matter what and push you to do your best,” Harris said. “They never let you give up, and they reach you how to be a better man and a better person in life.”

Harris recorded 73 tackles 10 tackles for loss 8.5 sacks 15 quarterback hurries, 3 pass knockdowns, 5 forced fumbles and 2 recovered fumbles this past season. Smith is known to have a good time while recruiting.

“He’s a pretty cool guy once you get to know him,” Harris said. “He likes to clown around with you a lot, so he can get a laugh out of you.”
