UA leading at Texas Relays

Arkansas is dominating the heptathlon at the Texas Relays, with Razorbacks holding five of the top seven spots through the first four of seven events at Texas’ Myers Stadium in Austin.

The Razorbacks are 1-2-3 with sophomore Taliyah Brooks (3,613 points), senior Alex Gochenour (3,583) and sophomore Payton Stumbaugh (3,269). Arkansas freshmen Leigha Brown (3,396) and Kelsey Herman (3,368) are fifth and seventh.

Brooks had top marks in the 100-meter hurdles (13.16 seconds) and high jump (5-10). Gochenour, the Texas Relays champion last year, was among the top three in all four events, including a mark of 42 feet, 9 inches in the shot put. Stumbaugh had the top 200 time in 23.76.
