Friday recruiting tidbits: RB target lists Hogs in top five

Arkansas has made the cut for a highly recruited running back.

Chase Hayden, who rushed for more than 2,600 yards as a junior, announced in no order his top five of Arkansas, Illinois, Oklahoma State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Hayden, 5-11, 185 pounds, 4.47 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Collierville (Tenn.) St. George's Independent School had more than 15 scholarship offers, including ones from Arkansas, Tennessee, Michigan, South Carolina, Missouri, Louisville and Arizona. Forrest City point guard R.J. Glasper will announce his college decision at 9:30 Monday morning at the school.

Arkansas has extended a walk-on invite. He'll either choose the Hogs or scholarship offers from Holmes CC, Labette CC, University of Central Oklahoma, North Arkansas College, Arkansas Tech, Williams Baptist College, UAPB, Southern Arkansas University, University of Arkansas -Fort Smith and University of Nebraska at Kearney.

Arkansas offensive line coach visited Jackson, (Tenn.) University School of Jackson on Thursday to check on highly recruited offensive lineman Trey Smith, who ESPN rates the No. 1 prospect in the nation.

Highly recruited safety Todd Harris, 6-0, 183, 4.46 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Plaquemine High School in Louisiana announced on Recruiting Thursday a top five of Arkansas, Ole Miss, LSU, Miss. St. and Notre Dame.

Arkansas offered offensive lineman Stephan Zabie of Austin, (Texas) Westlake on Thursday. He has about 20 other offers after only playing football for the first time this past season. He said he plans to visit the Hogs. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas commitment Jarrod Barnes of Cabot won the Class 7A state title in the long jump with a jump of 22.3.5. He'll play slot receiver for the Razorbacks.
