UA women tied for 8th at NCAA regional

— The No. 7 Arkansas women’s team shot a 14-over-par 298 Thursday to end the first day of the Stanford NCAA Regional tied for eighth place in Palo Alto, Calif.

Led by sophomore Alana Uriell and freshman Cara Gorlei, who each shot a 1-over 72, the Razorbacks are 11 strokes behind No. 2 Southern California which led the 18-team field with a 3-over 287.

The top six teams from the three-day tournament advance to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore., on May 20-25.
