Tuesday recruiting tidbits: Florida recruit high on Hogs

A Florida prospect has Arkansas as one of his top two schools.

Running back Maleek Williams, 6-1, 215, 4.42 of Punta Gorda, (Fla.) Charlotte said the Hogs and Illinois are at the top of his list. He said defensive coordinator Robb Smith visited his school on Thursday.

He has more than 15 other offers from schools like North Carolina, Purdue, Kentucky, Boston College and Minnesota. Williams said running backs coach Reggie Mitchell has taken over his recruiting. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Offensive coordinator Dan Enos visited Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan last week and came away impressed with sophomore quarterback Theo Day.

Day, 6-5, 200, 4.7 plans to drive 13 hours after taking his final exams on June 10 for the Hogs' June 11 prospect camp. Divine assistant coach and recruiting coordinator Chris Laney, who has cousins living in Little Rock, said Michigan State, Northwestern and others are showing interest. Freshman defensive back Brian Williams, the younger brother of Arkansas running back Rawleigh Williams III, received his fourth offer from Auburn on Monday. He started every game at safety this past season for Dallas Bishop Dunne.

Williams, 6-1, 190 also has offers from Iowa, Colorado and Missouri. He plans to attend Arkansas' satellite camp June 9 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas fullback signee Hayden Johnson, 6-3, 245, 4.8 of Columbia, (Mo.) Rock Bridge started classes on Monday.

Razorback tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. visited Riverview Monday to check on sophomore athlete J.T. Smith. The Hogs are showing strong interest. He'll likely attend the June 5th All Arkansas camp at War Memorial stadium and Arkansas' prospect camp on June 11. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Lunney will attend Pulaski Robinson's practice on Wednesday to watch Hog commitment Koilan Jackson, sophomore athlete Nathan Page, sophomore athlete Hunter Swoboda, defensive end David Porter, offensive lineman Sanderson Hines and others.

Junior quarterback Jaden Hill of Ashdown received a baseball offer from Arkansas on Monday. He has football offers from Arkansas State and La. Tech. Video highlights CLICK HERE
