Monday recruiting tidbits: ESPN 300 prospect looks to visit Hogs

Arkansas commit Maleek Barkley and the Lake Travis Cavaliers qualified this past Saturday for the Texas State 7-on-7 tournament to be held in College Station in July.

An ESPN 300 prospect is planning to visit Arkansas this summer.

Tight end Kedrick James, 6-6, 247, 4.81, of Waco (Texas) La Vega said he's planning to visit Arkansas this summer. He was hoping to visit mid-April, but wasn't able to make it.

The Baylor commitment, has scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Michigan, Texas, Texas A&M, Michigan, Illinois, Miami and others. ESPN rates him the No. 259 overall prospect in the nation.

His grandmother, Dr. Charlene Johnson-Carter, is an associate professor at Arkansas

Fayetteville defensive lineman Akial Byers reports receiving an offer from Ohio State on Friday. He now has 16 offers.

Indiana extended an offer to Fayetteville quarterback Taylor Powell on Friday.

Pulaski Academy junior safety Hayden Henry, 6-2, 205 received an offer from Air Force on Friday. Numerous others are interested. He's the younger brother of former Hog tight end Hunter Henry. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Another brother, Hudson Henry, a freshman at Pulaski Academy, has a chance to be a highly recruited tight end. He stands 6-4 and weighs 210. Video highlights CLICK HERE
