Wednesday recruiting tidbits: Another Juco prospect sets visit date

Arkansas will host a junior college prospect for an official visit in June.

Offensive lineman D'Marcus Hayes, 6-6, 315 pounds, of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College said he plans to make an official visit to Fayetteville on June 16-18. He'll officially visit Auburn June 4-6 and La.-Lafayette June 11-13.

He has offers from Arkansas, Florida, Auburn, Louisville, Mississippi State, South Florida, Iowa State and others.

Razorback receiver commitment Jonathan Nance, who also attends Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, said he might also make an official visit the same weekend.

Tight end Jeremy Patton of Arizona Western College will also visit the Hogs June 16-18.

Cornerback Henri Murphy, 5-11, 185 of East Central Communty College in Mississippi said Arkansas is high on his list after receiving an offer from the Hogs Tuesday. He said he plans to take his official visits before making a decision.

He said his former Dollarway teammate and Hog safety Josh Liddell told him of the offer. Murphy plans to graduate in December.

Iowa running back commitment Enos Benjamin of Wylie East High School in Texas expects Arkansas running backs coach Reggie Mitchell to visit his school today.

Mitchell visited with Hog running back signee Devwah Whaley and his family on Monday.

Nextuprecruits.com reports Arkansas showing interest in Team Thad 2017 guard Tavin Lovan of Franklin, (Ky.) Franklin-Simpson.

Highly recruited linebacker-defensive Drew Jordan, 6-3, 240, 4.52 of Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett said he's considering a visit to Arkansas after receiving an offer on Monday. Pound-for-pound he might be one of the strongest prospects in the nation. He has a 355 pound bench press, 560 squat and a school record power clean of 345.

Dollarway Coach Cortez Lee said on Wess Moore's midday show "Game On" on 93.7 FM in Little Rock there's a possibility former Cardinal Henri Murphy could enroll at Arkansas or another D-I school this summer. He said Murphy made the needed ACT score late in the summer after his senior year.
