Arkansas the clubhouse leader at NCAA championships

Arkansas shot a 2-over 282 and is the early leader on the first day of the NCAA Golf Championships.

The No. 21 Razorbacks had the lowest score of teams in the morning flight of 15 teams and finished nine shots ahead of Oregon, which partnered with Arkansas and played on its home course.

Kolton Crawford's 2-under 68 was tied for third among morning participants and one shot off the individual lead. Crawford had four birdies during his round, while seniors Taylor Moore and Nicolas Echavarria had three birdies apiece.

Moore finished the first round even par. Echavarria and Alvaro Ortiz were 2-over, and Charles Kim was 3-over.

The nation's top 15 ranked golf teams are on the course this afternoon. The 15 teams with the lowest score through three rounds will advance in the tournament.
