Page another Robinson athlete with big offseason

Pulaski Robinson sophmore athlete Nathan Page made huge strides in the weight room during the offseason while also bulking up.

He upped his bench press to 225 pounds and squat to 405.

“I added about 40 pounds to my bench and 50 to 60 to my squat,” said Page, who worked under the watchful eye of assistant and strength and conditioning coach Brian Maupin. “I weighed 150 at the beginning of the season and right now I weigh 180.”

Page, who stands 5-foot 11 inches and has recorded 4.50 seconds in the 40 yard dash, rushed 16 times for 202 yards while catching 44 passes for 731 yards and 8 touchdowns on offense this past season and earned was named one of the top sophomores in the state by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

He also recorded 81 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 6 interceptions, 6 pass deflections, a forced fumble while playing safety.

Page’s play has drawn interest from Arkansas, Alabama, LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M, Iowa State, Texas, Vanderbilt, Memphis and Louisiana Tech. He and several teammates visited the Hogs in early April.

“The coaches were great,” Page said. “I loved how the team interacted with one another. It was just a great experience to up there.”

During his visits to Arkansas, Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech, Page has picked up on some of his wants in a school.

“I look at the coaches and how they interact with the players,” said Page, who returned 7 kickoffs for 260 yards and 3 punt returns for 116 yards. “The atmosphere of the whole school. I like a coach that interacts with me and tells me what I’m doing wrong.”
