Top 2018 prospect to visit Hogs again on Saturday

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema talks to players during a game against Florida on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, in Fayetteville.

One of the top junior prospects in Oklahoma will visit Arkansas for the second time in about a month when the Hogs play LSU on Saturday.

Safety Patrick Fields, 6-0, 180 of Tulsa Union has scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Tulsa and Arkansas State. He visited the Hogs for the Alabama game.

“I loved my last visit and the beautiful facilities, campus,” Fields said. “Arkansas has a great atmosphere during the games. Also, I’m returning to see how Arkansas fares against a great opponent like LSU.”

Defensive coordinator Robb Smith watched Fields and teammates, Oklahoma cornerback commit Tre Brown and Minnesota linebacker commit Kyrei Fisher play during Arkansas’ bye week.

“Basically, he was just impressed with how I played, and he knows I'm returning for their game Saturday,” Fields said.

Fisher received an offer from the Hogs last week before Arkansas’ 31-10 victory over Florida while visiting with Brown.

Fields expects to meet with Coach Bret Bielema on Saturday. He said an offer from the Razorbacks would make them a very serious option.

“They're around two hours away from home, beautiful campus and the SEC, which is top-notch competition every week,” Fields said.

Bielema puts a premium on character and likes to meet and get to know a prospect before extending a scholarship offer.

“That's what I've come to realize, and I can definitely tell their program is on the brink of being something really special,” Fields said. “They've been making some huge upsets.”
