Reactions to Arkansas' 31-10 defeat of then-11th ranked Florida ...

Hogmodo: We were not sharp coming off the bye week with new offensive linemen starting. Austin Allen's passing was not as accurate as he has been all season. We had way too many penalties. But we did to Florida what Auburn did against us. We played one of our best games despite the poor passing and penalties, and Florida played tired and unfocused ...

Esward: We beat the No. 11 team in the nation by three touchdowns and our defense limited them to three offensive points. Oh, and they were one of the top-rated defenses in the nation. What else do you want?

HarleyHawgison: Our defense was as sharp as a surgeon's scalpel. We put Florida's vaunted defense to shame.

Votan: Best quote I've read in a long time (from) Drew Morgan -- "We play in the West. It's like a whole different conference. Florida is good, but the West is an entirely different level of animal. Nothing bad on Florida, buy they came into a rowdy house full of Razorbacks."

Eaglehog5: He's right about that. Good chance that Florida would finish sixth or seventh in the West this year.

Hogdr: Can you say butt-whuppin'? that was a great game by the Hogs!

Razorwill: ... So happy I was wrong. Florida's boys played some men ...

Eaglehog5: That's precisely what Larry Johnson told Coach (Jim) McElwain after the game.

On the anthracite grey uniforms Arkansas wore during its 31-10 victory over Florida ...

HogDynasty: Keep the uniforms with a performance like that. If the uniforms make that big a difference, I am all for it. Woo pig sooie!

Eaglehog5: Add white two-stripe pants. That will remind us old farts of how we looked on black and white TV in the '60s.

Little Hock: My kids both asked at different times, "Who's the team in black?"

Fatback: I don't care if they wear green if they play as hard as they did (Saturday).

DocLo: The helmets made it much better than the horrible grey uni's against Mississippi State a few years back, but I still hate it. That being said, as the game proceeded I became less and less bothered because of our performance.

BaumbasticHawg: The major improvement in the black/grey uniforms was the numbers. When they wore them before ... the numbers were unreadable at the game. While I can't stand that color for Arkansas, if they play like they did (Saturday), they can wear them all the time.

Bearcat: They look like a Darth Vader Halloween costume.

Swine Fusion wrote: Main thing I liked about the uni's was how we played in them. My son, though, loved them. Dunno why he's so fond of anthracite, but he is. And he's an alum now, too.

Matt Jones: I didn't care for the helmets, but like the jersey and pants. I thought it would have looked sharp with that helmet they wore in the bowl game last year.

Hogsrus: I have two sons in their twenties and they loved the look. It grew on me as the game wore on and we dominated the Gators (terribly cheap to sell out my love for tradition for a thumping of the hated Gators living in South Florida, but at least I know there's a problem). I do think bringing them out once a year probably helps with the recruiting and my traditional taste can handle it.

Clay Henry: I didn't think about the uniforms much. I was too busy watching the way the team played to worry or think about the change in uniforms. The helmets were a bit odd from long distance, but from up close they are spectacular.

HOG65: Our Razorbacks should wear game uniforms featuring only cardinal and white, the school colors. Loved the way our men played Saturday! Didn't like the uniforms at all but the helmet was pretty cool.

TheAlphaHog: I hope we never wear the chrome helmets (from last year's Liberty Bowl) again. On the other hand, I did like (the anthracite) uniforms and helmets and I am looking forward to seeing them again.

On the fact Arkansas didn't get back into the AP or coaches' poll, despite routing the No. 11 Gators ...

HogDynasty: Hogs are not in the top 25 in either poll, as expected. Beat LSU and we are back in.

Hawgindaslough: Ridiculous that Arkansas is not ranked. The Hogs destroyed Florida -- not a fluke, not a squeaker -- a thorough beat-down. The Hogs have lost only three games to teams ranked No. 1, No. 8 and No. 10. So how do the pollsters react? Rank the team that was just beaten 31-10 and leave the 6-3 team out in the cold.

Eaglehog5: Are there 25 teams in the country who could play our schedule and win more than six out of nine? I'd sure like to know who they are.

Dbhog: I think 56-3 (loss to Auburn) is still in the minds of many pollsters.

On the fate of two former Arkansas recruits who ended up at Florida ...

Woopigs: I wonder if going to Tyrie Cleveland on the first play (which ended in a Razorback pick six) was some type of "in your face" ... If so, Bwaaaaaaa! And Joseph Putu didn't play a snap and has no redshirt year. Poor kid got manipulated by his (junior college) coaches ...

On the bone-shaking hit delivered by Arkansas' Damon "Duwop" Mitchell on a Florida kickoff return ...

Eaglehog5: That guy got Duwopped! What a hit.

Hogman85: My jaw literally dropped when Duwop made that hit. Talk about knock your socks off.

Tuschhawg: Duwop will forever be know for that hit. Twenty years from now they will still be playing that hit.

Hogsrus: Twenty years from now that Gator will surely remember that hit.

Finetimeswine: Old school hit. In this age of tutu-wearing refs it is amazing we didn't get flagged. A thing of beauty!

Regarding a player's social media post after Arkansas dominated the Florida Gators ...

BaumbasticHawg: Great tweet from Jred (Jared Cornelius) -- "Taste just like chicken ..."

Concerns about LSU's defense ...

Piggybacker: LSU's defense has given up nine touchdowns in eight games. Yikes.

Colorado Hog: Alabama was able to get one. It is going to be very difficult. ... 'Bama could not run a lot on them. Can we?

Predictions for Saturday's game against LSU ...

GentryRzrbk: 27-13 Hogs.

StillGregHog: I just don't have a feel for this one. Last week I picked the Hogs but said I wouldn't be surprised with a Florida blow-out win, a Florida close win or a Hog close win, but would be surprised with a Hog blow-out. Well, we all know which one happened! This week I don't think any of the four options would surprise me. So since I really don't have any feelings, I will go with my heart and say Hogs 31, LSU 17.

JJhog18: 28-17 Hogs!

Hogeyedoc: Hogs win again, 20-17.

Eaglehog5: No way we can match up with that defense. No way, no how. And stop (LSU running back Leonard) Fournette? Not in this lifetime. Could be worse than Auburn. I'll go with LSU 35, Hogs 3.

Jhawg: I think it will be like most all of our SEC West games -- exciting and close. They have a a better defense and we have a better offense. We are at home so that is worth five to seven points. Arkansas 24, LSU 21.

Hollywoodbeachhog: I said 33-27 last week, and have been saying we would win out after the break for a while. I'll go with 27-6 this week.

ClarenceTrice: I've been completely wrong two games in a row, proving once again that after 50-plus years of watching college football, I know nothing. With that in mind, I'll say Louisiana State 17, Arkansas 20.

Neastarkie: I can't even guess. I could see going anywhere from a lopsided loss to a solid win. I think it'll be close. Just to play along, thought, I'll say we win, 28-24. I have no basis for that prediction at all, just that I want us to win.

Razorwill: I picked Florida last week and we won convincingly. I picked us over Auburn and we got routed. So in order to give us a chance and preserve this streak, I'm picking LSU 23, Arkansas 17.

Adgedg: Hogs 20, Tigers 13.

LifeLongFan: I never, ever pick against the Hogs. Not if they're playing the Heavenly Host. LSU has a hurricane of distractions to go along with a maximum effort defeat last week and a lousy quarterback. I say 21-7 Arkansas.

Buckhog: The Auburn game is still a burr under the saddle. But, the performance against the Gators exceeded my expectations. That was a great win. This is a big game for the Hogs and the Corndogs. Neither team can afford a loss. I think the Hogs win, 34-17.

Sacketthawg: 30-24 Hawgs.

PJHawg: All seven contributors to Hawgs Illustrated magazine picked the Hogs to win. Most usually pick Arkansas, except Harry King. But Harry is also picking the Hogs over LSU. Last time that happened was the Auburn game.

StillGregHog: Ouch. Double ouch.

Springdale85: 31-27 Hogs.

Nog-N-Das: Yeah, I'm a believer! Hogs 31, LSU 10.

Hog Treat: (LSU coach Ed) Orgeron will have them whipped into a frenzy and he will probably get them to see it as a last ditch way to get him the job. If he loses another game and the third in a row to Arkansas, then he can start updating his resume. I don't feel good about this game.

Hawginator: LSU's defense doesn't give up but about one touchdown per game, but we've got a field goal kicker now so ... I think the Hogs score one touchdown and kick four field goals to beat the Tigers by two. Arkansas 19, LSU 17.
