Bielema: No moves in offing

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema watches from the sideline during a game against Missouri on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016, in Columbia, Mo.

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema said Friday after Missouri rallied to beat the Razorbacks 28-24 that he doesn't plan to make any changes on his coaching staff.

The Razorbacks dropped to 7-5, including 3-5 in the SEC.

Bielema specifically was asked by a reporter whether he would be evaluate his staff during the Razorbacks' bowl preparations.

"Evaluating our staff?" Bielema said. "You mean am I going to make changes?"

Yes, the reporter replied.

"No," Bielema said.

But do you start the evaluation process?

"Well, you always do a season review obviously before the bowl game," Bielema said. "And obviously after the final game, which will be our bowl game, you always take self-inventory as a head coach. You always make evaluations and make decisions. You sit down and talk to your coaches.

"I can't predict what's going to happen in the world of college football, but I know what we're going to do."

Another reporter asked Bielema whether he'll make staff changes after the bowl game?

"I don't plan on making changes," Bielema said.

Cornelius injures knee

Arkansas junior receiver and punt returner Jared Cornelius didn't play in the second half.

Coach Bret Bielema said he was told by the training staff at halftime that Cornelius had a sore left knee.

"I don't have a lot of information," Bielema said. "I just know they ruled him out early in the third quarter."

With Cornelius out, Drew Morgan fielded two punts in the second half -- one for a 3-yard gain and another on a fair catch.

Cornelius had a 15-yard punt return in the first half, caught 3 passes for 23 yards and had -2 yards on 2 carries.

Mr. Bulletin Board

Missouri redshirt junior linebacker Eric Beisel, who caused a stir this week when he purposely mispronounced Arkansas as "Ar-Kansas" and said it would be a mistake for the Razorbacks to show up for the game, started and had eight tackles and a pass breakup.

Career long for Baker

Arkansas senior punter Toby Baker hit a career-long 60-yard punt in the fourth quarter that pinned the Tigers a foot from the their goal line. Baker's previous long punt was a 59-yarder against TCU earlier this season.

After not being called on to punt last week in the Razorbacks' 58-42 victory at Mississippi State, Baker averaged 45.3 yards on three kicks Friday. They all were downed inside the Missouri 20.

Kelley ill

Freshman quarterback Cole Kelley, who is redshirting this season but had dressed out for the first 11 games, didn't make the Missouri trip because he was ill, Coach Bret Bielema said.

"We had a huge food bug walk through our program this week, players and coaches, a lot of guys were sick," Bielema said. "Cole was really sick, so we left him at home just because we didn't want to be contagious."

Redshirt freshman quarterback Ricky Town signaled in plays from the sideline in Kelley's absence.

Upon further review

What first appeared to be an 8-yard touchdown run for Missouri tailback Ish Witter in the first quarter turned into a fumble recovery score for wide receiver J'Mon Moore.

Officials initially ruled Witter had scored, but replays showed he flipped the ball just before crossing the goal line. Moore picked up the ball before it went out of the back of the end zone.

If not for Moore's recovery, the play would have been ruled a touchback with Arkansas awarded possession at its 20.

On the road

The Razorbacks finished 2-3 in road games this season with their loss at Missouri. They won at TCU and Mississippi State with other road losses against Texas A&M and Auburn.

The Arkansas-Texas A&M game in Arlington, Texas, counted as a home game for the Aggies this season.

Including victories at Tennessee, Ole Miss and LSU last season, the Razorbacks have won four SEC road games the past two years.

Versatile Gibson

When Arkansas left guard Hjalte Froholdt took a blow to the helmet and had to leave the game with 5:53 left in the second quarter, Johnny Gibson shifted from right guard to left guard with Jake Raulerson coming off the bench to play right guard.

Gibson, a sophomore walk-on from Dumas who was making his fourth consecutive start in Raulerson's place, made the same move from right to left guard during in Arkansas' 31-10 victory over Florida when Froholdt suffered an ankle injury.

Froholdt returned for the second half against Missouri with Gibson moving back to right guard.

Turning 30

It took just one play for Arkansas senior wide receiver Keon Hatcher to extend his streak for catches.

Austin Allen hit Hatcher for a 66-yard gain to the Missouri 1 on the Razorbacks' opening snap. It was the 30th consecutive game Hatcher has caught at least one reception.

Little shorter

Just like last week's game at Mississippi State, Rawleigh Williams scored a touchdown on the Razorbacks' second play. His touchdown run Friday was for 1 yard compared to his 72-yard run against the Bulldogs.

Getting the ball

Missouri kicked off to Arkansas to start the game after the Tigers won the coin toss and deferred.

It was the 11th time in 12 games the Razorbacks got the ball first. On those 11 opening drives, the Razorbacks scored two touchdowns, kicked two field goals had an interception and punted six times.

Alabama was the only Arkansas opponent that got the first possession. The Crimson Tide lost a fumble.

Flag bearers

Arkansas sophomore offensive tackle Brian Wallace carried the United States flag and freshman wide receiver La'Michael Pettway sophomore linebacker Josh Harris carried the Arkansas flag when the Razorbacks ran onto the field.

Tigers lead series

The Tigers improved to 5-3 against the Razorbacks, including 3-1 in Columbia, Mo. Arkansas' only victory at Missouri was on Sept. 23, 1944, when the Razorbacks won 7-6.
