Redshirts look to make impression in bowl practices

— As Arkansas waits for its bowl destination to be announced Sunday, there are plenty of Razorbacks who redshirted this season waiting to make an impression in December.

That’s because many of the the 15 extra bowl practices are used as development sessions. It is a chance for the players already in the program to fend off the 2017 signing class, of which as many as 11 may enroll early and go through spring practice.

“You’re going to get somewhere from 10 to 15 bowl practices to show us what you’ve got, because I’ve got…guys coming in here looking to take your spot,” Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said before last year’s bowl practices. “That’s what good recruiting does. I know that. I’ve seen it. I’ve witnessed it. We’ll get better because of the depth we’re able to recruit. I’ve seen so many stories of these recruiting practices.

“These are really the times when a lot of defining stories happen. It’s really fun to be a part of them.”

Below is a lost of Razorback scholarship and preferred walk-ons who redshirted this season, as well as commitments in the 2017 class.

Arkansas, which will have official visitors in this weekend, could add to this list Friday when Alabama prep safety J’Marick Woods announces between the Razorbacks, Michigan and Mississippi State.
