Reaction of Arkansas fans after the Hogs’ 34-30 win over Ole Miss …

Hogmaestro wrote: I am so proud of those Hogs! The running game? Hugely improved. Rawleigh Williams, whom I have doubted, played like a savvy veteran. … Safety tackling still is a problem with Josh Liddell, but Santos Ramirez saved the game with a vicious lick! Corners played well. … The kicking game was the best I’ve seen it for a while. The offensive line made huge strides. Granted, Ole Miss ain’t ‘Bama or the Ags, … Austin Allen proved that he is everything we could ever want him to be as a QB. … Coach Bret Bielema deserves credit. It’s his team.

Colorado Hog wrote: The way a team responds to the complete beat down they had last week tells you a whole lot about the coaches and players. I remember the great (former Texas coach Darrell Royal) said one time that there is something that really gets under your skin about losing a football game. It is how you react to it that matters.

Hogmaestro wrote: Darrell Royal. One of the greats. Even if he did break my heart my entire childhood. All of the remaining games are huge … and we need to beat Auburn. But it’s the home games that you just really need to build your program and make it elite. We needed the game (against Ole Miss). And we got it.

Hog Treat wrote: ‘Bama’s annihilation of Tennessee makes our loss look much better and I think we are better than some of our fans think. Something was different tonight on the O-line and running game … It may be that we have been playing some tough teams and it shows that Ole Miss just isn’t as good as everyone thinks on defense.

On the reaction of Ole Miss fans after the game …

Razorwill wrote: Think we are bad after a loss? I went to (an Ole Miss message board). … You can tell the mood of fans by reading the subject line on their posts. (There are posts) about firing (Head Coach Hugh) Freeze and (defensive coordinator Dave) Wommack. Apparently they think some of their players have female parts.

Regarding the crowd noise during Saturday’s game …

Cleverhog wrote: After the third down sack of Kelly (with approximately 2:00 minutes left in the 4th), I said to myself that this is the loudest this stadium has ever been; and I’m including all of the Alabama games. The crowd absolutely erupted after that play.

BaumbasticHawg wrote: Not only was it loud outside, the south indoor club was the loudest that I have ever heard it. I’ve only missed one or two games since it opened in 2001 …

Hogin58 wrote: Saturday night’s noise level was exceptional. And it stayed that way for most all of the game. That being said, the TD that we scored on the second play of the game vs. ‘Bama in 2010 was still the loudest I’ve heard it in that stadium. They probably didn’t have decibel meters for that game, because it would’ve read off the charts. I actually felt the structural integrity of the stadium might’ve been compromised with how the place was shaking. I’d love to hear/feel that again soon.

Elihogs wrote: I work with the father of an Ole miss cheerleader. Both he and his daughter said that DRRS in the fourth quarter was the loudest stadium they’d been in. The daughter said that she couldn’t hear the cheerleader next to her in the fourth quarter. Well done, Hawg fans.

Regarding Kody Walker’s third season-ending injury during his six years on the UA football roster …

LDHog wrote: Hate it for the big guy. He’s certainly snake bit with injuries. Thanks, Kody, for representing the Hogs so well. And the best to you in life.

Jimmy Carter wrote: He’s a great guy. Very down to earth and personable …. He had his share of big moments, most notably last year’s Auburn game. It’s wild. I remember him committing to Arkansas a few weeks before I started my junior year at the UA. I feel like I’m getting old, so it’s funny to think he’s just now finally finishing up his career.

Bakedhog19741 wrote: Wow, I thought you were my age. Has Walker been there for 20 years?

On Arkansas offensive coordinator Dan Enos …

Scottagee wrote: Best game I have seen him call this year against a quality opponent. Great balance. Great use of the screen and draw. Gashed Ole Miss with calls inside and out. And the TD with Jared Cornelius was amazing.

Fatback wrote: I like that he went to different plays inside the 5 to punch it in or this game would have been a repeat of the A&M game.

Hog Treat wrote: Enos is a great coach that we have been lucky to have. Last year was his first and it started rough but ended beautifully.

LifeLongFan wrote: I really enjoyed seeing the classic pitch sweep. Student body right, anyone?

Red Porkhustle wrote: I was really glad to see Cornelius cut up field on that play. I was afraid at first he would get strung out and not get in. Had thought that if Keon Hatcher had cut it in harder vs. the Aggies he might have scored. Sometimes the call is good, but not executed well.

On Auburn being a heavy favorite in Saturday’s game …

LifeLongFan wrote: That’s the name talking. We get no respect. We’ll show ‘em.

Razorwill wrote: Very surprised (by the betting line). Good motivation. Gotta stop the run this week.

Hogsrus wrote: Looks like easy money to take the Hogs. Allbarn does have a good defense but not on ‘Bama’s or A&M’s level. Their offense is good running the ball but have problems through the air. They have thrown one touchdown pass total against A&M, MSU, LSU and Clemson. Allbarn is at home coming off a “buy” week (couldn’t resist) and we have played three tough games in a row but I think our staff can keep them focused after the Ole Miss win.

Predictions for Saturday’s game …

Jhawg wrote: … How the heck Auburn is a 9-point favorite is very odd. We have beaten TCU and Ole Miss and they have beaten a downtrodden LSU team with a controversial finish. … I dislike Auburn, but not as much as Ole Miss. Arkansas 27, Auburn 24.

GentryRzrbk wrote: 38-30, good guys.

LifeLongFan wrote: 34-17, Hogs. We administer a crushing defeat that puts the Gus Bus squarely in the ditch. You can’t have a productive (hurry-up no-huddle offense) with a quarterback who can’t run.

Bikehog23 wrote: I’m just not sold on Auburn’s offense this year. Sure, they have a good defense, but not as good as A&M or Alabama, and we moved the ball and scored on both those teams. And, if they rely on their run game, they are playing into our strength on defense. I don’t see Auburn scoring 24 points and I don’t think we score less than 30.

Hog Treat wrote: I think we have a day of big plays in the passing game with Jeremy Sprinkle and Jared Cornelius behind the linebackers to back them out of the run and blitz. 41-24, Hogs.

Hogeyedoc wrote: Hogs win 34 to 31.

JJhog18 wrote: 42-34 Hogs. I believe we will be just the better team …

Hogbacker wrote: If we can hold them under 30 points then we should win. We were able to put up 30 on ‘Bama and I don’t think Auburn’s defense is on that level yet. Last week we proved we can score on the ground and in the air for the first time this year … I see no reason we can’t keep that trend up. Hogs 31, Auburn 24.

Regarding the audience for a regional talk radio show …

Marcm wrote: Has anyone ever gotten through on the Paul Finebaum Show? I’ve been trying for three years and never been on.

GentryRzrbk wrote: You probably have too many teeth and an education above second grade.
