Lemming praises Hog CB commit Jordon Curtis' ability

Jenks, Okla., cornerback Jordon Curtis is committed to Arkansas.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network likes the versatility of Arkansas cornerback commitment Jordon Curtis.

Curtis, 6-2, 185, 4.42 seconds in the 40-yard dash, shines at running back and defensive back for traditional powerhouse Jenks High School in Oklahoma.

He rushed 87 times for 781 yards and 12 touchdowns while having 14 receptions for 308 yards and 2 touchdowns as a junior. He also recorded 24 tackles and 2 interceptions.

“On film, Jordon can bee seen performing at a high level at both running back and defensive back,” Lemming said. “He’s not the biggest back around, but once he gets up to full head of steam, he flashes the speed to turn the corner.”

Curtis picked the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Illinois, Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas Tech, Purdue, Rice and others.

His father, Louis, played running back at Wisconsin before transferring to junior college and eventually moved to defensive back at Tulsa.

Curtis has only played in three games this season after suffering a thumb injury during the Tulsa Union game that required surgery. He has 7.5 tackles and an interception return for a score while offensively he has 29 carries for 259 yards and 3 touchdowns along with 5 receptions for 93 yards.

Lemming, who rates Curtis a 3-star plus prospect, said he possess the skills to be a top flight cornerback at Arkansas.

“He’s a very fast, aggressive, smart and strong defensive back who can run with the swift backs and does a good job of taking on blockers and finding the ball,” Lemming said.
