UA wins decathlon challenge

— Sophomore Gabe Moore scored a personal-best 7,564 points to lead the Arkansas Razorbacks to a victory Sunday over Wisconsin in decathlon team competition to conclude the John McDonnell Invitational.

Moore’s point total ranks 11th in the NCAA ranks this season. His score combined with Arkansas teammates Brad Culp (6,665) and Lane Austell (6,451) carried the Razorbacks past the Badgers 20,680 to 19,003.

Arkansas sophomore Kelsey Herman won the heptathlon Sunday with 5,612 points, which ranks No. 12 nationally. She gives the Razorbacks four of the top 12 heptathlon scorers in the nation along with No. 3 Taliyah Brooks, No. 4 Payton Stumbaugh and No. 6 Leigha Brown.
