New Mexico point guard transfer point guard Jalen Harris has pledged to Arkansas during his official visit to Fayetteville. He arrived for the start of his visit on Thursday with his parents and is expected to leave Saturday.

Harris, 6-2, 156 pounds, started 18 of 31 games as a freshman and averaged 4.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Assistant T.J. Cleveland recruited Harris prior to his signing with New Mexico and reached out soon after Harris announced his intentions to leave the Lobos.

Harris will have to sit a year and will be eligible to play in the 2018-2019 season. Before arriving for his visit to Arkansas, Harris commented on his reasons for his interest.

“Arkansas has a great basketball tradition first and foremost,” said Harris. “Also I feel like their style of play fits the way I like to play. I'd say, I'm a fast paced athletic point guard that can score and get others involved.”
