Jeremy Sprinkle drafted by Washington Redskins

Jeremy Sprinkle was taken by the Washington Redskins in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.

The 6-foot-5, 252-pound tight end was the 10th pick of the fifth round, the No. 154 overall pick in the draft and the second Arkansas player taken, joining Deatrich Wise, who was selected by the New England Patriots in the fourth round.

Sprinkle finished his Razorback career as the program's leader in tight end touchdown catches with 11. He caught 71 passes for 921 yards over the course of his 4-year career, including 60 catches for 769 yards and 10 scores his junior and senior years.

He earned third-team All-SEC honors from Phil Steele after catching 33 passes for 380 yards and 4 touchdowns as a senior. He played in the Senior Bowl in January.
