— "Obviously a huge scare out there" with Rawleigh Williams. Doesn't have anything to do with his history, but he doesn't want to talk about it right now. "As far as the future, I don't have any idea what that may entail."

— Paul Ramirez has had a shoulder issue and aggravated it today, but it's not serious. Grayson Gunter should be full-go in the summer. Jared Cornelius tweaked his hamstring and there was no reason to rush him back.

— Hjalte Froholdt and Johnny Gipson made nice jumps. Colton Jackson had a good spring. Paul Ramirez had a good spring and then lost his grandmother.

— C.J. O'Grady had a nice spring. Thinks the TEs can be good with Gunter gets back.

— Cornelius made great strides before he got hurt. Deon Stewart and LaMichael Pettway have played well. The JUCOs can help. Jordan Jones finished with his best week.

— The DBs are playing aggressive. Ryan Pulley and Henre' Toliver are playing good, Kevin Richardson between nickel and corner.

— Blake Johnson has hit the ball well since his extreme timeout. They don't punt inside.

— Kevin Richardson and Santos Ramirez are defensive captains. Austin Allen and Frank Ragnow on offense.

— On if there was thought to not having Williams out there: Today wasn't even a full scrimmage, he just got spun around. He missed so much time that all the reps he can get are good. Wasn't any thought to holding him out. The whole family was there today. Mom was emotional after it happened. Doesn't want to speculate.

— This is earlier than they usually vote on team captains. The 4 who got it ran away with the voting. Had 4 former players come talk to the team yesterday.

— Always has thought Ramirez has a chance to be a special player. Very physically gifted. The growth he's had upstairs and how he's played on the field are related. Tackling much better.

— Going to sit down with Paul Rhoads to talk about the 3-4 installation. All the players are engaged. Players are helping coach. "They're feeling the ability that they can play a little faster and the physicality of it." A lot of times it's about the belief in it.

— Told the players it was just practice 15.

— Got a little testy with an SEC Network cameraman whose cord got in the way of his kicker.

— Got to work on red zone, situational and move-the-ball.

— Jamario Bell has had a rebirth. Been unbelievable after initially being hesitant about the move. Had a big interception Tuesday. He's a crowd favorite among the players.

— The 3-4 lets you play D-Line games and disguise where people are coming from.

— Austin Allen has said some good things. Always want your QB to be a leader. Ty Storey came alive today. "Cole Kelley does a lot of good things, then will do something that will make you pull your hair out. He's so aggressive. Everything is so dramatic with him, success and failure."

— Jack Lindsey has just been one of the more significant surprises of the spring. He has moxie. He's got the family history.

— Scoota Harris actually got votes as captain, which shows people see him as a leader. He's violent. Kyrei Fisher has been very impressive. Not afraid to strike you, he gets football and it's important to him. Moved Dee Walker inside and like what they saw from him.

— Sosa Agim is fun to watch. Grown in maturity. He's got to get better at straining through difficult moments, fighting through double teams. Very gifted pass-rusher.

— Brandon Martin can catch the ball and does impressive stuff with it. Jonathan Nance tweaked the back of his knee a few weeks ago and wasn't himself the last 2 weeks. Them and the development of Pettway and Stewart are encouraging.

— Michael Taylor stopped talking to schools who ran a 3-4 because he wanted to play with his hand on the ground. Thinks he likes the move back to end. He'd gotten up to 270, then dropped down and is now getting back up there.

— Having Frank Ragnow back changes the whole outlook on the offensive line.

— Storey and Kelley are even right now. "I don't see anything dramatically different than the 2." Competition will go into fall camp. Always been a big believer that competition makes people better. They aren't going to compete with Austin at this point, so they'll compete with each other.

— They've added a lot of stuff to the 3-4. Didn't show any pressure today but have it in. The part they need to focus in on is gameplanning for SEC opponents.

— Snuck 2 evaluation days in during April. Coaches will be out Monday through Thursday the next 4 weeks. Coordinators will be in the office the first 3 days. Will have 10 camp days, 5 on campus, 1 in Dallas, 2 in Houston, 1 in Chicago, 1 in Detroit and 1 in New Orleans.

— "I was really shook" after the Williams injury. Williams kept saying it was embarrassing. He wanted to walk, but they were taking precautions. Had Dan Enos take the group to pray. Williams was moving everything and was kind of joking around.

— Doesn't want to comment about conversations about whether Williams will play again. His health is the most important.
