Everything that happened in Hogs' first fall scrimmage

Arkansas Razorback quarterback Austin Allen Thursday, July 17, 2017, during practice on campus in Fayetteville.

— Follow along for updates from Arkansas' first scrimmage of fall camp.

— Jonathan Nance and River Warnock are working as the 2 punt returners.

— Starting offense against backup defense. Kamren Curl is working as the No. 2 field CB.

— Devwah Whaley getting a nice workload early.

— Austin Allen found La'Michael Pettway for an 18-yard gain on Chevin Calloway on the sideline.

— Ty Storey is in to work with the backups before Cole Kelley.

— Storey threw behind a wide open Tobias Enlow on a play-action bootleg. Would've been a big gain, but Enlow couldn't adjust and make the catch.

— No Dre Greenlaw, so Grant Morgan is working as the starting Will.

— Randy Ramsey just got to Cole Kelley on a blitz off the edge and stripped the ball. Play was blown dead.

— David Williams just made a nice upfield cut on a 12-yard run. Chevin Calloway forced him inside and he turned it upfield for a nice gainer.

— Nance just caught a quick pass and stiff-armed Calloway to the ground, turning a short gain into a 19-yard play.

— Briston Guidry broke past Colton Jackson and Devwah Whaley to get to Austin Allen and the play was blown dead as a sack. UPDATE: Bret Bielema said Whaley was responsible for the bust.

— Hayden Henry working with the second-team defense at Razor and just made a nice shoestring tackle on Devwah Whaley.

— All base defense so far. No nickel looks.

— Jack Kraus just dropped an open pass from Allen over the middle of the field. Would've been a 20-yard gainer or so.

— Scoota Harris disrupted on a blitz up the middle, forced Kelley to scramble and the play was blown dead for no gain.

— Maleek Williams pushed the pile for an impressive 9-yard run against the starters. Should've been 2 or 3, but he drove it the extra yardage.

— Allen went over the top and found La'Michael Pettway for a 65-yard gain inside the 1. Pettway burned Kamren Curl before being dragged down just short of the goal line.

— Calloway broke on an Allen pass intended for Nance on the sideline and tipped it away. Nice play after a few rough ones early.

— Grant Morgan unimpeded off the edge on a blitz, got to Ty Storey easily for a big loss.

— Chase Hayden with the play of the scrimmage so far. Broke a few tackles and broke a short gain up the middle outside into a 74-yard touchdown. Outran the whole defense, beating Henre' Toliver, who had an angle. Pretty impressive speed. Some confusion over whether he stepped out but they kicked the extra point.

— Cole Hedlund not kicking today. Connor Limpert handled the extra point.

— Cheyenne O'Grady with a nice one-handed catch on the sideline.

— Allen mentioned how impressive Pettway had been recently after the older WRs were called out by Bielema. He's run with the starters most of the day so far.

— Jordan Jones with a nice 15-yard catch dragging his feet on the sideline. Caught it on Korey Hernandez. No big plays from Jones yet, but he's had a solid day.

— Hjalte Froholdt jumped for a false start and was replaced by Jake Raulerson. Went off the field hitting himself in the head, then took his helmet off and hit himself in the head with it.

— Another catch on Hernandez, this time by Deon Stewart for 17 yards on a 2nd-and-15.

— Allen is 10-12 for 165 yards at this point. Kelley 5-5 for 29. Storey 5-7 for 30 yards. A lot of checkdowns by the backups. Maybe a good sign Kelley isn't forcing it. Storey generally good about taking the safe throw.

— Sosa Agim just got to Storey while being held by Jalen Merrick. Generally a good pocket so far, but a lot of pressure on that play.

— Nice pass breakup by Scoota Harris on a ball intended for Jack Kraus.

— Giovanni LaFrance with a nice tackle-for-loss on David Williams.

— Allen and Pettway hook up to beat Kamren Curl again, this time for a 67-yard score. Curl held Pettway at about the 25-yard line, but fell and Pettway was all alone for the easy score. Pettway has 4 catches for 160 yards and the touchdown. Allen is 13-15 for 247.

— First-team OL has probably done a better job pass blocking than they have run so far. Really clean pocket for the most part.

— Austin Capps and Grant Morgan combo'd on a nice tackle for loss on Maleek Williams.

— Santos Ramirez just had a nice tackle on Williams in the open field. Wrapped up and Scoota Harris arrived to finish him off.

— Williams broke a tackle from Morgan, but was put down by an authoritative stop by Henre' Toliver for a 3-yard loss.

— Shane Clenin and Dalton Wagner rotating with the second-team offense at LT. Clenin just got beaten by a quick Randy Ramsey swim move for a sack.

— Red-zone work now.

— Blake Mazza drilled a 36-yard field goal right down the middle after a third-down drop by Pettway.

— Calloway did a nice job keeping Cantrell out of the end zone on a bootleg. Knocked the much bigger TE out of bounds at the 1.

— Mazza with a 25-yarder.

— Toliver with a nice PBU on a Kelley pass intended for Gary Cross in the end zone. Well-thrown ball but a better play by Toliver.

— Grant Morgan has been pretty active in place of Greenlaw.

— Hayden just made a really nice for an 8-yard gain. Play was designed to go right and he spotted a hole to the left, made a quick cut and picked up solid yardage. Good vision.

— Scoota Harris with a nice break on the ball. Almost picked off a short Storey throw.

— Connor Limpert with a 26-yard field goal.

— Nice effort by Armon Watts to beat Johnny Gibson and get to Austin Allen to blow the play dead.

— Giovanni LaFrance flashing again to stuff David Williams for a 2-yard loss. Nice break on the ball. Has 5 tackles, 2 TFL so far.

— Kamren Curl with a nice open-field tackle on a Jordan Jones end-around.

— Blake Mazza with a 24-yard field goal.

— Koilan Jackson dropped a nice ball from Storey for what would have been a 20-yard gain. Michael Smith getting on him a few plays later.

— Limpert clanked a 31-yard field goal from the right hash off the left upright. First miss of the day.

— Agim has been pretty consistently disruptive.

— Mazza hit from 23 yards. He's looked pretty good.

— Developmental work now. Hayden Johnson just trucked Kyrei Fisher on the sideline after catching a pass. Johnson has also worked with the backups today.

— Jeremy Patton with no pads.

— Ty Storey getting a little work with the starters. Zach Rogers in for Frank Ragnow.

— Jordan Jones with a drop over the middle while getting drilled by Terrell Collins. Ball popped up and should've probably been picked.

— Austin Cantrell, Jack Kraus and Jake Hall are the shield on the punt team.

— No Daulton Hyatt so far. Jack Lindsey working with the twos now. He and Carson Proctor got the developmental reps.

— Koilan Jackson is the only freshman WR to get non-developmental reps.

— River Warnock and Deon Stewart have fielded punts after stalled drives the last few minutes.

— Devwah Whaley had 12 carries for 40 yards, but just picked up 10. The second-team defense has done a pretty decent job stopping the run.

— Cole Kelley just went deep for Jordan Jones. Throw was probably going to be long, but Korey Herandez grabbed Jones and was flagged.

— Briston Guidry has been fairly impressive against the run. Working mostly against Colton Jackson and Hjalte Froholdt.

— Nice breakup by Korey Hernandez on a Kelley throw to the sideline that was probably a bit late.

— Blake Johnson's punts have been hit or miss.

— Santos Ramirez went from talking a little smack to River Warnock on a badly overthrow ball to slinging down Maleek Williams after the whistle had been blown dead, resulting in an unnecessary roughness penalty.

— Proctor just hooked up with Koilan Jackson for a 45-yard touchdown over Ryan Pulley. Really nice catch and impressive play.

— Giovanni LaFrance with a big hit on Devwah Whaley. He's been really physical today.

— Blake Johnson dropped the snap on a punt. Would've been blocked in a live setting.

— Daulton Hyatt with his first action today. Working with the second-team offense.

— Chase Hayden has shown a nice knack for wriggling out of tackles despite not being the biggest guy.

— Sosa Agim has 4.5 tackles and 3 TFL and a sack. Been really disruptive. He is mostly working against a pair of freshmen in Wagner and Clenin.

— Now a 20-yard run by Hayden. Nice burst. He has 15 carries for 118 yards and the long touchdown. Maleek Williams has 9 carries for 15 yards.

— Blake Mazza drilled a 30-yarder, center-cut with the team in his ear to end the scrimmage.
