Arkansas 95, CSU Bakersfield 68 - Final

The Razorbacks cruised to their 10th win of the season behind big nights from the usual suspects as well as Anton Beard and Dustin Thomas.

Barford led all scorers with 19 points while Macon added 16, 11 in the second half, and eight assists. Daniel Gafford grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds and Thomas, who was more productive early on, had 10 points and six boards.

After shooting just 3 of 13 from deep in the first half, Arkansas found its range and knocked down 7 of 14 in the final 20. The Razorbacks put up 53 points in the second half and outscored CSUB by 22 after halftime.

Arkansas 80, CSU Bakersfield 55 - 4:49 left

Arkansas is on a 10-0 run in the last two minutes and 16-2 over the last four led by Jaylen Barford, who scored eight straight points in the span of a minute.

Anton Beard was assessed a technical foul just before the timeout. Not exactly sure what happened.

Daniel Gafford has a career-high 11 rebounds to go with five points. Daryl Macon has also tied a career-high with eight assists.

It's been a tough night for C.J. Jones, who checked out with more than nine minutes left having missed all three of his shots from distance and one point.

Jaylen Barford becomes the fourth Razorback to reach double figures with a nice bucket at the rim. Macon and Beard still lead with 13. Meanwhile, CSUB doesn't have a player with 10 or more, but does have four with nine.

The Roadrunners are letting the 3 fly tonight, too. They are 7 of 25.

Darous Hall will again be at the line after the break after a strong take that could have been called a charge. Two officials waited a couple of long seconds before making the call.

Anton Beard exited the game to a pretty good ovation. He and Daryl Macon lead Arkansas with 13 points. Beard made a terrific pass to a diving Trey Thompson that resulted in free throws.

Daryl Macon appears to have found his touch from distance. His second triple in the opening two minutes of the second half gave him 11 points for the game and eight straight in a 10-0 Arkansas run since CSUB tied the game at 38.

Anton Beard also added a pair of 3s on back-to-back possessions. It looked like he gave the folks with floor seats a look before the last one went through the net. Macon also added a dunk off a CSUB turnover to get Bud Walton going.

Jaylen Barford assisted on three of Arkansas' five makes in the first four-plus minutes.

Arkansas 42, CSU Bakersfield 38 - Halftime

An Arkansas scoring drought that lasted better than three minutes allowed the Roadrunners to knot the game at 38 with under two to play in the half.

Trey Thompson grabbed the Razorbacks' ninth offensive rebound of the half off an errant Hall 3 for a putback to put Arkansas back on top. Macon later added free throws on the ensuing possession to set the halftime score.

Arkansas is +10 in the rebounding margin, which is a good thing. But the Hogs have hit just 3 of 13 3-point attempts while Bakersfield is 6 of 17.

Thomas leads all scorers with 10 points to go with five rebounds. CSUB junior guard Rickey Holden leads the Roadrunners with nine points and Brent Wrapp has six assists. Daryl Macon has five helpers as well.

Arkansas 37, CSU Bakersfield 30 - 3:49 left first half

Dustin Thomas is flirting with a double-double late in the half. He made an aggressive move to the rim, backing his man down, resulting in free throws to put him at a game-high 10 points.

Arkansas is maintaining a steady lead, but hasn't had that run that knocks the air out of teams just yet.

Darious Hall (2/2 FG) has had a productive first half, scoring five points in five minutes, and will be at the line after the timeout. His first make came on a midrange jumper following a smooth shot fake. He then sunk his fifth 3-pointer of the season moments later. I'm a big fan of his game.

Arkansas 27, CSU Bakersfield 20 - 7:26 left first half

Arkansas matched its largest lead of the night at 10 before the Roadrunners sunk a triple.

Jaylen Barford hit a nice stepback 3, and probably got away with an offensive foul, but it was impressive to say the least. He now leads the Razorbacks with seven points in a team-high 11 minutes.

Daryl Macon also made an aggressive move to the bucket with the shot clock winding down. He got into the lane and got a floater to fall off the glass as the buzzer sounded for his only basket of the night to this point.

Arkansas 18, CSU Bakersfield 10 - 11:47 left first half

Dustin Thomas has come to play tonight. He leads Arkansas with six points and four rebounds, and has been active on the offensive glass.

Gafford checked back into the game just before the under-12 media timeout wearing a compression sleeve on right arm, and appears to be fine.

The Razorbacks are a much bigger team that CSUB, and it's showing in the points in the paint category, which Arkansas leads 16-4.

Arkansas 10, CSU Bakersfield 3 - 15:50 left first half

Daniel Gafford is off to a great start. Arkansas' offense looked a bit sluggish in the opening minutes, but two dunks from him has livened Bud Walton Arena a bit.

The first dunk came on an alley-oop, which I'm not sure how he caught. Following the second, he had to come out of the game with a hand issue. Trey Thompson came in to replace Gafford and immediate scored in a pick-and-roll situation.

The Roadrunners haven't scored in nearly three minutes after taking an early 3-0 lead. Arkansas already has six points off turnovers as well.
